Day Out With Thomas is an excellent activity for the family! Boys and girls alike will enjoy this event. When we were on vacation in Monterey, California in 2006 we stopped by Roaring Camp Railroads in Felton for a Day Out With Thomas. At the time, TSO Jr was 3 1/2 years old and Matman 1 1/2 year old (I was pregnant with Daredevil).
It was a day full of Thomas & Friends activities. We rode on a train led by #1 himself, Thomas the Tank. As TSO Jr told everyone it was a “real” train and the “real” Thomas! This was by far one of the most exciting things TSO Jr had ever done (this was pre-Disneyland, sorry Thomas). TSO Jr even got to take pictures with Thomas (the train ride had put poor Matman to sleep).
The fun did not end with the train ride though it was definitely the highlight. The kids got Thomas & Friends temporary tattoos and had their faces painted. There was a bouncer to jump in and haystacks to climb on (they really loved the hay). They also had Thomas train sets for the kids to play with, story telling, and a puppet show. The activities were endless.
The snack bar had simple lunch items but things the kids loved! Smuckers Uncrustable PB&J sandwiches, hot dogs, and chips. The boys were delighted and had built up an appetite with all of the running around.
Of course there was gift shop with every Thomas & Friends item a child could dream of (and a parents nightmare at the end of a napless day)! The boys got some nice t-shirts and a train each so left very happy (thank goodness).
We had a wonderful time at a Day Out With Thomas and will definitely go again if we have the opportunity (they do not come to Hawaii, overlooked AGAIN). You will need to purchase your tickets in advance so click here to find a Day Out With Thomas event near you.
