SafeGuard Go Car Seat
December 24th, 2007
Karen’s Post:
Travel sure got easier when we found the SafeGuard Go car seat. We had been looking for something that would be easier to travel with and TSO and I both agreed when we found the SafeGuard that it was the one to get (we actually needed two).
TSO was thrilled that the seats were so lightweight (two seats are lighter than one of the Britax we normally used) and I felt more comfortable with the SafeGuard over other booster seats since it has a 5-point harness (I still do each time I buckle my boys in).
Our first trip with the SafeGuard seats was to Monterey and though the travel bags that came with the seats barely survived the journey we still think the SafeGuard is worth every penny! We now use our own duffel bag while traveling and can fit two seats into one bag (with room for our infant car seat too) which makes for fewer pieces of checked luggage (this is a huge deal when traveling with kids and makes you the envy of other parents). Traveling is so much easier with these seats, without them I wouldn’t even consider traveling with three kids (infant travel seat recommendation coming soon).
TSO and I have told all our friends about the SafeGuard Go car seats. Most of them have since bought SafeGuard seats and are just as happy as we are with them. So go check out specific details on the SafeGuard site, you will be amazed that one seat has everything you are looking for. While you do that I’m going to plan another trip since the SafeGuard Go has made it possible to travel again (now to just find a way to get the kids to sleep and/or sit still on the flights).
Kellie’s Post:
When Karen told me about her SafeGuard Go discovery last year we immediately went out to buy one for our daughter. We too were planning a trip, our first with two kids, and were dreading the thought of lugging two huge Britax carseats with us. How the heck was I going to do my usual vacation shopping if our luggage allotment was wasted on carseats? Her recommendation was a life saver (Karen has always been our go-to person for gear recommendations since she and TSO always seem to find the latest toys)! The SafeGuard is so light and compact that it fit into the carseat bag WITH our Britax (and I still had room to stuff some things into that bag - yes, I’m a serious shopper and Dr. DreamyMcSteamy is a very efficient packer - he’s forced to be). Talk about saving valuable luggage space!
After the ease of traveling with the SafeGuard Go we went out to buy another one for our son to use when he got a little older. For our big trip a few weeks ago, we were thrilled to find that he met the age and weight requirements for the harness mode (22-60 pounds/31-52 inches/over 1 year old) so we were able to use both of the travel seats. It was wonderful. Without a doubt I would recommend the SafeGuard Go Booster seat!
