The Snuzzler. A Wonder Product!

Probably one of my favorite baby gifts from my daughter’s baby shower was the Snuzzler by Kiddopotamus. When I first saw it I had no idea what is was and if we could even make use of it. Then again, as a new parent I didn’t know what anything was or what to do with it! In particular though, the Snuzzler looked like one of those nice but frivolous baby items. Boy was I wrong!
After our daughter was born we learned that naps were of no interest to her. She would sleep for 15 minutes at a time and I could set my watch to how long she would sleep if I wasn’t holding her. The slightest noise would wake her. After a while I just gave up trying to put her in her crib and had her sleep in her stroller in the living room where I could get her quickly. I discovered that by using the Snuzzler in her stroller she slept a little more soundly (all 15 minutes of it) and that allowed me some time to do something luxurious for myself – like brush my hair or use the bathroom. Hey, it was a good day if I was out of my pajamas and my teeth were brushed before my husband came home from work (Hhhhiiii, hhhoney. Nothing makes you feel sexier than fuzzy teeth.).
My son loved the Snuzzler even more than his sister. By the time he arrived we had moved beyond making our kids sleep in a stroller in the middle of the living room. We had discovered vibrating bouncer seats! We put the Snuzzler on the bouncer and let our son sleep there until we were ready to put him to bed. He loved it and would get upset whenever it was time to wash the Snuzzler. He slept so well with it that for a while we even let him sleep in the bouncer chair next to our bed. Whenever he would fuss my husband would jiggle the bouncer with his foot until he fell back asleep. I felt like a horrible mom but after the first child you do whatever it takes to get a little sleep!
The original purpose of this product is to provide head and body support while transporting your baby in a carseat or stroller. I’m sure it works wonders for that purpose, but I discovered that what also makes the Snuzzler great is that it creates a soft little cocoon around the baby to make them feel a little more warm and secure. They are durable (ours survived daily use by two kids) and machine washable. And even better, they become fluffier after you put them in the dryer! I loved our Snuzzler so much that it’s become one of my favorite baby gifts to give.
