The Wii Action Pack

The Wii Action Pack for the Nintendo Wii Remote comes with a tennis racquet, baseball bat, and golf club to attach to your Wii remote for a more realistic game. I was hoping that with a better feel for the real game I might have a future John McEnroe (forget that we have enough tantrums around here) or Tiger Woods. As for baseball, I’ll wait for them to clean up their act before I wish for a player in the family.
The boys were very excited to try out the accessories and anxiously waited while TSO attached the sports equipment to the Wii remotes. And waited. And waited. The remotes are difficult to attach and the wrist straps have to be removed (a real pain in the…). Finally, the sports attachments were on and they played some games. When they were ready to switch to a non-sports game they had to wait again while TSO removed the sports attachments and put the wrist straps back on. Honestly, it is a waste of time!
The Wii Action Pack is a disappointment. The money spent and the time it takes to put them on the remote (then remove them) is not worth it. And even once they are on, the game was no more enjoyable than it is while playing with just a plain Wii remote.
TSO decided to throw out the Wii Action Pack (in our effort to keep the house tidy we are trying not to keep anything that does not get used). I was a little concerned (alright a chicken, I did not want a meltdown) over how the boys would react finding their Wii accessories in the trash. TSO talked to TSO Jr (the only one who would really notice the Wii Action Pack missing) and to my surprise our 5 year old agreed that the Wii Action Pack was useless. TSO Jr even helped throw them out!
Do not waste your money on the Wii Action Pack. The games are just as fun without the accessories and less work to set up.
There are other Sports accessories on the market though we have not tried them and after the experience with the Wii Action Pack I have no intention of doing so. If any of you have tried another brand please let me know what you think. I would love to hear from you.
