My 5 year old, TSO Jr, received Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games for his birthday. The game takes place at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. You can choose to play using classic Mario and Sonic characters or with your own Mii characters. Players compete in Olympic events like track and field, swimming, gymnastics, and jousting using different movements to control the Wii. I really enjoy these types of games much more than the ones that use the remotes like a classic game controller. It’s what makes the Wii unique and better than other systems in my opinion (as usual you didn’t ask for it but got it anyway).
Both TSO Jr. (5 years) and Matman (3 years) enjoy playing this game but are not able to successfully operate their characters in all of the events. Some of the events are just too difficult. They both really enjoy playing the easier events. TSO Jr. gets bored when the events get too difficult for him and is then ready to move on. Matman being younger does not seem to notice when things get tough and is content to keep playing even when he’s not actually winning!
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games is rated E for Everyone and though fun and appropriate for all ages some of the events are a bit tough for preschool age kids. If you have older children this game is great since they will enjoy all of the events and be able to get through them on their own.

It is rated E? No way!! It should be rated much higher. It is fun and its graphic is fantastic. Although some sport events are hard to play with the controls, over all it should be rated higher than E.
