Wordless Wednesday - What’s for dinner?

June 25th, 2008

Wordless Wednesday

My youngest son, Daredevil, is always trying to get into the refrigerator. I had no idea when I picked this model (prekids) that a handle running the length of the refrigerator would mean a 1 year old would be opening it just to hang out! Motherhood sure does change the way you think and how you pick appliances.

  • What a cute picture…looks like he knows what he wants. Happy WW!

  • And to think that we once wanted our kids to be just a little less dependent on us! My daughter has decided that she will be old enough to pour the milk unassisted at 4, which might be true but we have carpet in the dining room (where we eat all of our meals).

  • That is brilliant! So good of the manufacturers to put a handy little step in there for him too . . .

  • My kids perform that stunt everyday without fail too *LOL*

  • Great photo :) Happy WW!

  • And he’d going right after something good…later they say, “Mom, there’s nothing to eat!”

  • I love kids who show signs of self-reliance, early ;o)

  • Just keepin’ cool?

  • That is cute. I love it when my boys do that.

  • Maybe he just wants to cool down in there? :-)

    Happy WW!

  • Hello! Maybe your son is getting his picnic basket ready to come to my WW picnic location?

Thanks for stopping by Penny Lane.
I usually use a mouseover so you can see more info. The beautiful picnic location was in Bennington, Vermont.

  • He can come to my house and climb in my frig. as long as he cooks too. Cute picture.

  • that is so cute! i can imagine my daughter doing that stunt someday soon! :)

  • Yup - my kids did that too when they were little. If you can take a video of them … it will be funny to watch especially when they are older. Happy WW.

  • aaw how sweet, so when he opens the fridge what I’m really interested in is what he gets out of there. It’s funny how you said he just “hangs out there” lol

  • Oh the dreaded question that I get ask every day at the same time without fail. LOL

  • haha…that is awesome! My almost 2 yr. old son still hasn’t figured out how to open up our fridge…but once he does, I’m sure this will be a common sight in our house!

  • This could be my son as well. :) Looks like he is ready to feed himself.

  • Oh wow-I’ve never seen a fridge with a handle. That is too funny.

  • Amen, having kids changes all your decision making techniques!

  • Yeah, those toddlers turn pro real fast! I love this shot.

  • Wow! He sure had perfected that technique, huh? Happy WW!

  • I love this, it’s such a great shot. Yes, isn’t it crazy how motherhood can change how you look at just about everything? Happy WW!

  • That is awesome. What determination!

  • Great picture! We have the other style of fridge (freezer on top) and my kids STILL love to hang out in there… I find myself saying many, many times a day… “stay out of the fridge!” :-) Happy WW!!

  • Isn’t amazing how fast they learn? Before you know it, he’ll be pouring some milk into his cereal bowl.
My two year old has been doing this, ever since she learned. She especially likes to put the apples and zucchini in her purse. I don’t know why the fridge is such a fun place to hang out. :)

    Cute photo. Happy WW!

  • Look at him flexing his little leg muscles!!! :)

  • Oh too funny! Mine likes to scoot a chair over and get into the pantry!! Happy WW!

  • My toddler hasn’t figured out how to open the door yet. And I won’t be teaching her anytime soon. I’d rather listen to her stand in front of the door yelling, “MILK” than have her be able to open it herself!

  • LOL, I wonder what he would cook…

  • Oh my gosh too cute! A side story I found EE climbing up the shelves in the pantry today. He made it to the stop and freaked out refusing to climb down. Poor thing screamed until I came running to grab him.

  • So cute! He knows where the good stuff is ;)

  • My son loves to hang out by the fridge too. Am just glad we didn’t have those fridge with handles running its length -by then it would be too easy for him to unpack everything in the fridge.
